Ford will halt production at the automaker’s assembly plant near Kansas City, Missouri, that makes F-150s.

On Friday, the company said global semiconductor shortages are causing the work stoppage.

According to Reuters, the plant will be down for a week.

However, Ford’s F-150 plant in Dearborn, Michigan, will stay open.

The F-150 has been the top-selling truck in America for 45 years.

In February, Ford admitted that assembly plants will continue to be idled as it works through chip supply chain problems.

Ford sold 726,003 F-Series trucks in 2021, which was down from 787,372 in 2020.

According to Ford, the plant currently has 7,250 employees.
