[ad_1]
Volkswagen launched their all-new mid-size premium sedan Virtus as a replacement to the Vento in the market. It is Volkswagen’s second product under India 2.0 strategy and is placed slightly above the other sedans in the segment. Volkswagen is offering Virtus two petrol engine options. There is a 1.0 litre turbo petrol and a 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine option. The 15 litre turbo petrol GT version is the most powerful car in this segment. Here we have a video where a Virtus 1.5 TSI competes with a Vento with a stage 1 remap.
The video has been uploaded by TORQUED on their YouTube channel. In this video, vlogger starts by talking about the engine specification of both the sedans. The Volkswagen Virtus seen here is the GT variant which means it is powered by a 1.5 litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates 150 Ps and 250 Nm of peak torque. The Volkswagen Vento on the other hand is not stock. It is a stage 1 tuned sedan which generates 125 bhp and 200 Nm of peak torque. Both the sedans get a DSG transmission. He also mentions that Volkswagen Virtus is slightly heavier than the Vento.

Vlogger chooses an empty road for this drag race. Vlogger is driving the Virtus and his friend is driving the Vento. Both the sedans line up for the race. Vlogger blows the horn three times to signal that the race has started. The race started and Volkswagen Virtus was the quick to move off the start line. It should be noted that the AC has been turned off in both the sedans but the traction control was Active. Volkswagen Vento can be seen struggling to overtake the Virtus but it could not do it at any point.
For the second round, the Volkswagen Vento was put in Sport mode while the Virtus was driven in the normal mode. The race started and surprisingly, Volkswagen Vento took the lead. It maintained the lead for few seconds only. Soon, Virtus overtakes Vento and secures the lead in the race. Once the Virtus started gaining speed, the gap between both the cars kept on increasing.
Similar results were seen in the third round of the race as well. The Vento was managing to move off the line quickly but, after few seconds Virtus was taking the lead. Both the drivers then stopped the car and swapped them to see how the cars would perform. Vlogger was now driving the Vento while his friend was in the Virtus. Even after swapping, the results remained the same. For the last round, vlogger asked his friend to deactivate traction in both the sedans and asked him to engage the Sport mode in Virtus. In this round, the Virtus performed extremely well. The driver managed to get a good launch and it did not give Vento a chance. It kept on building speed and gap between both the sedans were increasing. Vlogger mentions that the Virtus was touching around 130 kmph on the straight empty road while the Vento was touching around 120 kmph.
