Maruti Swift Sport to be launched
[ad_1]
Sporty cars have never made practical sense in India. This is because most of them fall out of budget for most people. But this might soon change with Maruti’s new entry. Maruti is currently testing the Swift Sport in India. We have obtained new spy shots of the Swift Sport testing on the outskirts of Mumbai. In today’s article, we talk about the new spy shots of the Suzuki Swift Sport in detail and what do we know about this car.
What was spotted?
The Maruti Swift Sport has once again been spotted by our eagle-eyed readers. This time around, the car was spotted testing on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. It continues to sport the ARAI-testing badge on its rear windshield. All these details hint that Maruti could be seriously considering its launch in India and could really be looking to surprise its customers.
How is Swift Sport different?
The Swift Sport gets some subtle design changes like a tweaked grille, side skirts, rear diffuser and 17-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, we also get to see dual exhausts. In the interiors, we have a touch of red accents, highlighting its sporty nature.
Specifications
Dimension-wise, the Maruti Swift Sport is 50mm longer and 40mm wider than the normal Swift. Coming to the engine, it comes with a K14C 1.4-litre Booster Jet petrol engine. This engine is capable of producing 138bhp & 230Nm of torque. It comes mated to a manual and an automatic gearbox option.
Maruti Swift Sport – Other speculations
Though this is completely speculative, Maruti might actually be testing the 1.4-litre engine. Maruti could be doing so to employ this turbo-unit on its upcoming mid-size SUV. The 1.4-litre engine will be a bit underpowered for a big SUV, but Maruti can re-tune the engine for the mid-size SUV. However, as of now nothing is concrete, so we will continue with our take that Maruti could actually be working a launch for this car in India.
