Mahindra XUV700 bookings cross 1 lakh in just 4 months

In the last few months, Mahindra and Mahindra have been in news mostly for their SUVs. The newly introduced XUV700 has received praise among auto enthusiasts for its value for money tag, power as well as features. The XUV700 has received more than 1 lakh bookings in India till date. The SUV took only 4 months to cross this mark.

The bookings of the SUV opened on 7th October last year and in just 3 hours received 50,000 bookings. The deliveries of XUV700 started in the same month itself. Due to the global shortage of semiconductors chips, the sales of cars in India have suffered and the XUV700 is not an exception. The deliveries of top variants of the XUV700 have stretched even more than 1 year.

The XUV 700 is broadly divided into the MX series and AdrenoX Series. The base variant of XUV700 (MX series) starts at Rs 12.95 lakh, whereas the top variant (AX series) sells at Rs 23.79 lakh.

Some details of the vehicle can be summed under the following heads:

Engine: The XUV 700 gets diesel as well as petrol engine variants. The 2 litre petrol engine generates a power of 200hp and a torque of 380 Nm. The 2.2-litre diesel engine offers 185hp power and a torque of 420 Nm.

Interior: The XUV 700 gets a 10.25-inch infotainment system and support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The cabin gets 6 speakers and an efficient sound system.

Safety modes: The SUV gets Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) as well as Forward Collision Warning (FCW). Some of the important other features are driver drowsiness detection, cruise control, smart pilot assist, traffic sign recognition etc.

The Global New Car Assessment Programme (Global NCAP) has performed a crash test on XUV700 and the results were very satisfactory. The XUV700 achieved a five-star rating in the test. In terms of adult occupation, the SUV scores 16.03 out of 17. However, for adult and child occupation the SUV scores 41.66 out of 49 points.

The XUV700 rivals SUVs like Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus in the Indian market.
