First picture of production version out

Hyundai is preparing to launch the facelift of the Venue. They have already released the exterior sketches of the 2022 Venue and will officially launch it on June 16th. Now, the facelifted version of the compact SUV has been listed on the company’s website. They also have a picture in which we can see the production-spec version of the Venue Facelift.

The picture on the website is very close to the 3d renders that were leaked earlier. There is a new grille which Hyundai calls “Parametric Grille”. We have seen a similar design on Tucson. The headlamp setup is the same as the current Venue but the turn indicators are redesigned. The bumper is also new. It gets a long strip which acts as an air dam and there is a wide faux skid plate also.

On the side profile, the only major change is the newly designed alloy wheels. Other things remain the same so there are LED turn indicators on the outside rearview mirrors, roof rails, chrome door handles and black plastic cladding.  The manufacturer has already teased the rear with a video. In the video, we can see the design of the tail lamps. They are a split unit now and are connected via a light bar. The rear bumper also has housing for the reversing light and reflectors. Moreover, there is a faux skid plate.

We are expecting that there would be some changes to the interior also. There could be some new material choices, tweaked dashboard design and upholstery design. Hyundai might also add some features like a digital instrument cluster and ventilated front seats. Moreover, there could be some new exterior colours.

The Venue already comes very well equipped. It comes with a wireless charger, automatic climate control, tyre pressure monitoring system, an electric sunroof, automatic projector headlamps, cornering lights, LED Daytime Running Lamps, multi-function steering wheel, push-button to start/stop the engine, keyless entry, rear AC vents, projector fog lamps and much more. The infotainment system measures 8-inches and has a touchscreen. It also supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

For safety, there is dual airbags, Anti-lock braking system, Electronic Brake Distribution, Hill Start Assist, rear parking camera, Vehicle stability management, Electronic stability control, high speed alert and ISOFIX child seat mounts.

We are not expecting any changes to the engines of the Venue. So, it will continue to come with 1.0-litre turbo petrol, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The turbo petrol produces 120 PS and 172 Nm, the naturally aspirated engine produces 83 PS and 113 Nm and the diesel engine produces 100 Ps and 240 Nm.

The naturally aspirated engine comes mated to only a 5-speed manual gearbox. The turbo petrol is offered with a 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT and the diesel engine will be offered only with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Hyundai might be working on the Venue N Line also. If this happens that it would be offered only with a turbo petrol engine. There would be other mechanical upgrades as well such as faster responding steering, stiffer suspension and a sporty sounding exhaust. The N Line variants also get cosmetic upgrades over regular vehicles.
