It is no secret that Force Motors is working on the 5-door version of the Gurkha lifestyle SUV. The SUV has been spotted testing once again. The spotted Force Gurkha 5-door model was equipped with rugged looking wheels instead of the standard steel rims.
The latest spy images suggest that the Force Gurkha 5-door could be offered in multiple variants. The top-spec model is likely to be offered with a rugged 4×4 option. The new spy images show that the LWB Gurkha features a much beefier tyres. It is likely to be offered in 4×4 and 4×2 drive layouts, and the spotted model could be the top-spec 4×4 variant.
The lower-spec variants will come with a 4×2 drive layout, which will be priced significantly lower than the 4×4 model. The company hopes to drive sales with the low-cost 4×2 variants. The Force Gurkha 5-door could come with design changes to differentiate with the 3-door model. It comes with a revised front fascia that is in-line with the larger Trax and different headlamp unit.
The new Force Gurkha 5-door will be based on the stretched version of the brand’s C-platform that underpins the existing platform. The new model is likely to come with a wheelbase of around 2.8 meters, which is around 400mm longer than the regular Gurkha.
What’s more interesting is that the 5-door Force Gurkha LWB variant will come with multiple seating configurations, including 6- and 7-seat layout. In fact, the 6-seater variant with captain seats were caught testing multiple times on the Indian roads.
The Force Gurkha LWB is likely to be powered by the same Mercedes-sourced 2.6-litre diesel engine that powers the regular 3-door model. In the current form, this engine produces 91bhp and 250Nm of torque. The engine could be tuned for higher power output and torque. A 5-speed gearbox is likely to come as standard.
