Ikea, the Swedish furniture retailer, is hiring for a variety of positions at its Bengaluru store. The company recently opened its fourth center in Bengaluru, employing 1,000 people, with 72 percent of them being locals. All of the job openings on the company’s website are for full-time positions. Ikea stated on its website, alongside an advertisement that stated “we are now hiring in Bengaluru, also ” that they are a diverse group of down-to-earth, simplistic people with a lot of enthusiasm for homeware. They all share an appealing vision: “to make everyday life better for many people.” This brings us all together and strengthens our inclusive, open, and honest culture.
IKEA sincerely believes that it will provide the best work environment for its many employees by providing equal pay and opportunities for advancement for all. The store also believes in empowering women, and according to the company, women are taking on traditionally male-dominated jobs such as forklift driving, power stacking, assembly, and installation services.

On the weekend, there was a massive crowd at Ikea’s Bengaluru store. People were forced to wait for three hours at the Nagasandra store, making it difficult for security guards to manage the crowd. IKEA expressed their gratitude to the Bengaluru crowd via Twitter. In addition, the current wait time at the Nagasandra store is three hours. They asked people to plan ahead of time or shop online.

IKEA expects to attract close to 5 million tourists annually this year in Bengaluru, with a planned investment of 3,000 crore in Karnataka.
IKEA now has four outlets nationwide. IKEA opened its first store in Hyderabad in 2018.In 2020 and 2021, it opened stores in Navi Mumbai and Mumbai, respectively.
On June 22, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai inaugurated IKEA’s largest store in India, announcing a $3,000 crore investment in the state.
Susanne Pulverer, Chief Executive Officer & Chief Sustainability Officer of IKEA India, stated that the company has a long-term commitment to Karnataka to have a positive impact on the local economy through its operations.
With its expanding retail presence, IKEA India will be a significant contributor to the overall home furnishing market. It will continue to stand by the vision of creating a better everyday life for many people by providing opportunities for a growing eco-system for the entire industry, including growing people and skills.
