2022 Hyundai Tucson is one of the upcoming SUV to be launched this year in India this year. After being officially teased by the company, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson has been listed on the official Hyundai website. However, the official booking of the car is yet to get started in India. The launch is expected to take place on 13th July.
It is quite important to note that the new Hyundai Tucson debuted in the international market in 2020. However, the updated SUV is yet to launch in India. The 2022 Hyundai Tucson had been spotted in its camouflaged avatar while being tested and various spy images have surfaced on the internet. We are quite sure that the SUV will be equipped with ADAS safety features which include adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot detection, and lane departure warning.
The 2022 Hyundai Tucson is expected to get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with a digital driver display, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats etc. The safety features will include multiple airbags, ADAS, 360-degree camera, descent control etc. The wheels of the SUV are supposed to be 18 inches for better performance in the Indian (on-road as well as off-road) conditions.
Globally, the Hyundai Tucson is offered in two variants- standard wheelbase and long wheelbase. While the standard wheelbase gets 2680mm wheelbase, the other variant gets 2756mm wheelbase. We are quite sure that India will have the longer wheelbase version of the SUV. However, the chances of the SUV being offered as a 7-seater are quite slim.
The 2022 Hyundai Tucson is expected to be offered in petrol as well as diesel engines. We expect an AWD variant (top variant) in the 2022 Hyundai Tucson line-up. The new generation of the Hyundai Tucson is expected in 2.0-litre petrol and 2.0-litre diesel motors. We are hopeful that the new Tucson that will launch in India will get manual as well as automatic variants. The SUV will get FWD and AWD options as well.
Currently, the Hyundai Tucson costs between Rs 22.69 lakh to Rs 27.47 lakh (ex-showroom in New Delhi). The SUV is offered in 5 variants which include the petrol and diesel variants. The base model is offered at Rs 22.69 lakh, while the 4WD Diesel AT variant is the top variant and costs Rs 27.47 lakh. We expect a change in the prices of the new Tucson when it launches in India. The ARAI mileage for the Diesel variant is 15.48 kmpl and the Petrol variant is 12.95 kmpl. After its launch in India, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson will compete with the likes of Tata Harrier and Mahindra XUV700.
