All new Hyundai Tucson arrives on official website ahead of India launch

Hyundai is preparing to launch its flagship SUV in the Indian market. They will be launching Tucson soon. The manufacturer has listed the new SUV on their Indian website. The website says “Arriving Soon”.

The new-gen Tucson’s design is a big departure when compared to the current Tucson that sells in our country. It now gets Hyundai’s new design philosophy. There is a new grille, that Hyundai calls a “parametric grille”. The LED Daytime Running Lamps are integrated into the grille itself. The headlamps are now vertically stacked instead of the foglamps.

On the sides, there are very aggressive body lines. The doors have a lot of cuts and creases which pop out in the correct sunlight and give a very unique look to the SUV. The rear also has a very sharp design with a light bar joining both the LED tail lamps.

It is expected that the 2022 Tucson will be offered with the same 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engine as the current Tucson. The naturally aspirated petrol engine would produce 159 Ps of max power and 192 Nm of peak torque whereas the diesel engine would produce 185 Ps of max power and 400 Nm of peak torque. The petrol engine is mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission whereas the diesel engine is mated to an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The top-end diesel engine’s variant is also expected to come with an all-wheel drive system.

The current price of Tucson starts at Rs. 22.69 lakhs ex-showroom and goes up to Rs. 27.47 lakhs ex-showroom. Once the facelift launches, the prices will increase. Hyundai Tucson will compete against Jeep Compass, Citroen C5 Aircross and Volkswagen Taigun.

Hyundai Venue Facelift and N Line

Hyundai is working on a facelift of Venue which is expected to launch by mid-June. It will also come with the new parametric grille. There will be new alloy wheels and a new rear-end design. The interior is also expected to stay mostly the same although there could be some new materials and upholstery. There could be features like a digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting etc.

Hyundai is also working on an N Line variant of the Venue. It will come with N Line specific steering wheel, alloy wheels and gear lever. The interior is expected to get an all-black theme with red stitching. There will be mechanical upgrades as well. So, a stiffer suspension, sporty exhaust note and faster steering response.

Verna Facelift

Hyundai is also testing the new generation of the Verna on our Indian roads. Because it is a generation change, the interior, as well as the exterior, will be all-new. The engine options might not change. As of now, not much is known about the Verna facelift.

Ioniq 5

Hyundai will be bringing the Ioniq 5 electric crossover as a CKD to our country. The design of Ioniq 5 looks like it came straight from a concept car. It definitely turns a lot of heads on the roads. As of now, we do not know which battery size will Hyundai bring to India.
