Mahindra partners with VW for MEB electric component sharing

Mahindra and Volkswagen have signed a partnership agreement to explore the use of MEB electric components for Mahindra’s new “Born Electric Platform”.
The agreement evaluates the scope of collaboration as Mahindra intends to equip its “Born Electric Platform” with electric motors, battery system components and battery cells from VW’s MEB electric architecture. A binding supply contract is expected to be concluded by the end of 2022.
Volkswagen’s Modularer E-Antriebs-Baukasten (MEB) is a modular platform developed for electric cars. It’s an open vehicle platform that allows car manufacturers to build EVs quickly and cost-effectively. MEB is currently being used by brands like Audi, SEAT, Skoda and VW.
