Tata Motors introduces Tata Harrier XZS variant in India

Tata Motors has introduced a new variant of the Tata Harrier SUV in India. The new edition is the XZS variant and sits between XZ and the XZ+ variant. The XZ+ is the top variant of the Tata Harrier and starts at Rs 20.34 lakh. The new XZS variant fills the gap between the XZ variant and the XZ+ variant. Apart from being available in the regular variant, the XZS variant is also available in Dual-tone and dark editions.  The buyers also get a bunch of added features in the XZS variant which were earlier limited only to the top variant (XZ+).

Price

The Tata Harrier XZS is available in manual as well as an automatic variant. When it comes to manual transmission, the XZS costs Rs 19.99 lakh, the XZS Dual Tone costs Rs 20.19 lakh and the XZS Dark edition cost Rs 20.29 lakh. In the automatic transmission models, the XZS costs Rs 21.29 lakh, the XZS Dual-tone costs Rs 21.49 lakh while the top variant will costs Rs 21.59 lakh.

Features

When it comes to features, internally the Harrier XZS gets a lot of features which are present in the XZ+ variant. Some important internal features include an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 7-inch TFT instrument display, six-way electrically adjustable driver seat, JBL sound system, air purifier, automatic climate control, leather wrapping on the steering wheel and gear etc.

When it comes to safety features, the Tata Harrier XZS offers 6 airbags, traction control, off-road ABS, hill assist control, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control and many more. The XZS variant, however, doesn’t get iRA car connected technology which is only present XZ+ variant. The other feature that is not present on the XZS variant is ventilated seats.

Exterior

The XZS variant gets 17-inch alloy wheels that are dual-tone in colour. On the other hand, the LED headlamps are paired with LED DRLs along with a panoramic sunroof and rear-view mirror.

When it comes to engine, the Tata Harrier gets a 2.0 litre 4 cylinder diesel engine (1956cc). The engine churns out a maximum power of 167.67bhp while the peak torque is 350Nm. The boot space of the SUV is 425 litres while the fuel tank capacity is 50 litres.

On the other hand, Tata Motors has recently unveiled the concept for its new electric car ‘Avinya’. The best thing about the Tata Avinya EV is that it is expected to provide a minimum range of 500km. The company has also stated that a production-spec version of the Avinya will enter the Indian market by 2025. The company has stated that the term Avinya is derived from Sanskrit and it means innovation.

According to Tata motors, the Avinya Pure EV is based on the third-generation architecture. The company has solely designed the electric car while keeping in mind the Indian auto market. Tata has clarified that Avinya EV will hit the Indian market within 24 months or 2 years after the launch of Tata Curvv.
