2022 Toyota Fortuner GR-S in a walkaround video

Toyota recently launched the GR-S variant of the Fortuner. It is now the new top-end variant of the Fortuner. It is priced at Rs. 48.43 lakhs ex-showroom and is offered only as a diesel engine with automatic transmission and 4×4. It will be offered in two colours, there will be Pearl White and Attitude Black. Here, we have a walkaround video of the Fortuner GR-S.
The video is uploaded on YouTube by Know Your Car- MOHAMMED NADEEM. The video starts with the interior of the Fortuner GR-S. As we can see, the steering wheel is slightly different with GR badging and leather-wrapped. It is still a multi-function unit and now gets red stitching.

The seats are also GR specific. So, they are finished in black, perforation and red stitching. There is GR embroidered on headrests. The surround around the gear lever now gets a carbon fibre finish. The pedals are now aluminium ones which give a sporty appeal to the cabin.
It comes with 11 speakers from JBL, a wireless charger, dual-zone climate control, a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, heat rejection glass, connected car technology, powered tailgate, LED headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lamps and LED tail lamps. Other changes include a GR push button to start/stop the engine and the multi-information display is also revised to display GR specific graphics.
The manufacturer has also made changes to the exterior. It now comes with a GR-specific bumper which has a GR-badging and bi-tone radiator grille. There is a faux skid plate finished in black. On the sides, the moulding for wheel arches is finished in Pearl White. The alloy wheels and outside rearview mirrors are finished in black. The brake calipers are now red in colour. At the rear, there is a spoiler with a black and white finish. There is GR Sport badging and a rear diffuser type faux skid plate.
Toyota says that they have also retuned the suspension. They say that the suspension is firmer which should help in handling. The engine is the same 2.8-litre unit that produces 204 Ps of max power and 500 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. On the GR-S variant, it drives all four wheels using a 4×4 system.
On the lower variants, you also get a 6-speed manual gearbox and a rear-wheel drive configuration. There is also a 2.7-litre petrol engine on offer which produces 166 Ps of max power and 245 Nm of peak torque. It is also offered with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. However, it is offered in a rear-wheel drive configuration.
The pricing of the Fortuner now starts at Rs. 31.79 lakhs ex-showroom and goes up to Rs. 48.43 lakhs ex-showroom. It competes against the MG Gloster, Skoda Kodiaq and the upcoming Jeep Meridian.
