Hyundai releases first TVC for Creta Knight Edition [Video]

Hyundai recently launched the Knight Edition of the Creta. It starts at Rs. 13.51 lakhs ex-showroom and goes up to Rs. 18.18 lakhs ex-showroom. Now, the manufacturer has released a new TVC that showcases the Creta Knight Edition.

The Knight Edition gets only cosmetic changes when compared to the other variants of the Creta. It gets red inserts on the front grille, which is finished in black. The brake calipers are finished in red. The front and rear skid plates are finished in gloss black.

Then there are blacked-out elements throughout the exterior. The door handles, roof, C-pillar garnish, shark-fin antenna, roof rails, side sill garnish, outside rearview mirrors and tail lamp inserts are blacked out. The alloy wheels are also now finished in dark metal. You get 16-inch wheels on S+ and 17-inch wheels on SX(O). Moreover, the Hyundai logo is in dark chrome now and there is a new Knight emblem on the tailgate.

There are some changes to the interior also. It now has red accents on the AC vents. There is red stitching on the seats and the steering wheel. We have already seen a similar design on Turbo variants of the Creta. However, it gets orange accents whereas the Knight Edition gets red accents.

The Knight Edition will be offered with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and the 1.5-litre diesel engine. The Petrol MT S+ is priced at Rs. 13.35 lakhs whereas the Diesel MT S+ is priced at Rs. 14.31 lakhs. Then there are the automatic variants, The Petrol IVT SX (O) costs Rs. 14.31 lakhs and Diesel AT SX (O) is priced at Rs. 18.01 lakhs. All the prices are ex-showroom.

Hyundai has not made any mechanical changes to the Knight Edition. So, the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine still produces 115 Ps of max power and 144 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine also produces 115 PS of max power but 250 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines come with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. The petrol engine also gets an IVT automatic transmission, whereas the diesel engine comes with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

There is also a 1.4-litre, turbocharged petrol engine on offer that comes with direct injection. It produces 140 PS of max power and 242 Nm of peak torque. It is offered only with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. You do get paddle shifters mounted behind the steering wheel to take manual control of the gearbox. There are also three drive modes, Eco, Sport and Comfort. Hyundai also offers traction modes, Mud, Snow and Sand.

The price of the Hyundai Creta starts at Rs. 10.44 lakhs ex-showroom and goes up to Rs. 18.18 lakhs ex-showroom. There are seven variants on offer namely, E, EX, S, S+, SX Executive, SX, and SX(O). The Creta goes against Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross and Nissan Kicks. Because of the pricing, Creta also has to compete against Mahindra XUV700, Mahindra Scorpio, MG Hector and Tata Harrier.
