Toyota Innova is one of the most popular MPVs on sale in India. Toyota Innova is popular among buyers for its reliability, ride comfort and low cost of maintenance. Even today, there are several first generation Toyota Innova MPVs in India that have over a lakh km on odometer and are doing just fine without any major issues. What people owning first generation Toyota Innova are now doing is that they get it completely modified or restored to give it a fresh look. Here we have one such type 2 Toyota Innova that has been neatly modified with custom Lexus kit.
The video has been uploaded by Autorounders on their YouTube channel. The video starts by showing how the Innova looked like when it came to the garage. There were minor scratches and dents on the MPV but overall the exterior looked decent. The interior was looking dull and was clearly showing signs of age. The car was then driven into the workshop and the front bumper, grille, headlamps were removed. The front fender on this Innova was also removed.

The dents and scratches on the body panels were marked and then the dents were corrected using dent puller machine. These panels were then sanded to achieve an even finish. A thin coat of putty was then applied on the MPV. After the excess putty was removed, the whole car was given a coat of primer. This was done to achieve an even finish before painting the car. The car was then taken to the paint booth and spray painted in premium quality Black paint. A clear coat was also applied on the car after this.
By this time, new fenders were installed, the aftermarket headlamps were also fixed to check if they fit perfectly or not. The front grille is now a single unit which is with the front bumper. It is a Lexus-like front grille. This grille is actually a custom made unit and it gives it a muscular look at the front. There are LED fog lamps integrated into the bumper. Coming to the side profile, the original alloy wheels have been replaced with aftermarket alloy wheels. This adds to the sporty look and goes well with the overall look of the car.
At the rear, the stock tail lamps have been replaced with aftermarket LED unit and the rear bumper is also a custom made unit with twin faux exhaust tips in it. The interior of this Innova has also been customised. It gets Grey and beige dual tone interiors. The seat gets custom fit dual tone seat covers, the steering wheels has been wrapped in leather and there are 7D floor mats installed as well. The car gets an aftermarket touchscreen infotainment system as well. The fit and finish of the work done on this Toyota Innova looks very neat. The car looks a lot more premium and sporty at the same time. the quality of paint job is also top notch and it looks like a brand new vehicle that has rolled out of the production line.
