Kia launched their all-new MUV Carens in the market this year. Kia Carens is based on Kia Seltos which is a 5-seater SUV. Just like Seltos and Sonet, Carens also became popular among buyers for it competitive pricing and features. When launched, the base variant of Carens was cheaper than Seltos. There are several videos customised Kia Carens MUV on the internet. Here we have a video where the interiors of a Prestige Plus variant Kia Carens have been neatly customised to look like a top-end variant.
The video has been uploaded by VIG AUTO ACCESSORIES on their YouTube channel. In this video, the vlogger talks about all the modifications or customisations that are done. The car seen here in the video is a mid-spec variant which means, it comes with decent number of features except some which are only available in the higher variants.

No major changes have been made to the exterior of the car. It comes with regular headlamps and LED DRLs, alloy wheels and LED tail lamps from factory. The oly customisation that the vlogger done to the Carens is that he has installed V-Kool clear film on the window glass and windshields. The vlogger then moves in and starts with interior customisation. Kia Carens comes with 6 airbags standard across all variants. Two airbags are installed in the seats which makes installing an aftermarket seat cover a challenge. Vlogger and his team accepted the challenge and worked their way around it.
They came up with a solution where they can install a seat cover without affecting the functioning of airbags. The cover on the portion where the airbags are situation not completely sealed. Instead it gets a velcro which won’t affect the functioning of the airbags in case of an accident. The seats are wrapped in custom made seat covers. The owner wanted a beige colour material for his cabin as it looks a lot more premium. The seats get perforations and the design looks familiar to what is seen in the higher variants.
The door gets leather wrapped on it and the plastic panels on the door are finished in gloss black so that it looks similar to higher models. The matte black finish on the dashboard was also finished in gloss black which gives it an even finish. The steering wheel is also wrapped in leather. Other than this, the vlogger has done damping on all doors for better NVH levels. Owner did not wanted to upgrade the speakers so the vlogger did not replace it. Other customisations in the car include ambient lights and 7D floor mats. The ambient lights in cabin are controlled using a mobile application and colour of the lights can also be controlled using the same.
Kia Carens is available with three engine options. There are two petrol and one diesel engine on offer. There is a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that comes with manual and IVT gearbox option. The 1.5 litre turbo diesel engine comes with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission option. The 1.4 litre turbo petrol engine is offered with a manual and a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
