Ferrari California to Tata Nexon

Former chairman of Tata Sons, Rata Tata is a personality that needs no introduction. The 81 year old industrialist was the man behind several ventures by the Indian brand. Tata Nano which was actually not a successful product was also Ratan Tata’s brainchild. Apart from being a successful businessman and philanthropist, Ratan Tata is also known to be an automobile enthusiast and he has been spotted with some of his cars in the garage.
Tata Nexon
Nexon was Tata Motors’ first ever product into the compact SUV segment. It is currently one of the best selling SUVs in the market. It is currently one of the safest car in the segment and that has helped a lot in making this SUV popular among buyers. Ratan Tata also owns one of these SUVs in his garage. He uses the per-facelift model in Blue shade. He is using the 1.5 litre turbo diesel version that generates 108 Bhp and 260 Nm of peak torque.
Ferrari California

From Nexon, we move to a car that lies on the other end of the spectrum. A Ferrari California hard top convertible in Ferrari Red shade. Mr Tata has been spotted quite frequently driving around Mumbai with the top down in this Italian beauty. The car is powered by a 4.3 litre V8 and generates 490 bhp and 504 Nm of peak torque. This model has been discontinued from the market.
Honda Civic
Honda Civic was a product that created a space for itself in the sedan segment in India. It was actually a car which was even used by some of the celebrities as well. Mr. Tata owned an all-White Civic sedan and he used it for his daily commute. Most of the time Ratan Tata himself was seen behind the wheels. The Civic is powered by a 1.8 litre V-TEC engine that generated 130Bhp and 172 Nm of peak torque.
Mercedes-Benz 500 SL
Ratan Tata also owns a Mercedes-Benz 500 SL convertible sedan finished in Silver-Grey shade. It looks like he has a soft corner for convertibles. This classy looking sedan is powered by a 5.0 litre V8 engine that generates 306 Bhp.
Land Rover Freelander
As we all know Tata had acquired Jaguar Land Rover from Ford in 2008. Mr. Tata owns a Land Rover Freelander SUV which comes with sporty Red interiors. Surprisingly, Ratan Tata does not have any Range Rovers in his garage. The Freelander was mostly seen during important events or work.
Mercedes-Benz W124
Another car owned by Ratan Tata is a classic Mercedes-Benz W124 sedan. He said to own one but this car has never been actually spotted on road. This car is however well maintained in his garage.
Cadillac XLR
As we mentioned before, Mr. Tata has a soft corner for convertibles. Next convertible in his garage is a Cadillac XLR which comes with a folding hardtop. It uses 4.6-litre Northstar V8 engine manufactured by General Motors. The Cadillac is finished in Sporty Red shade and has been spotted on the roads of Mumbai several times.
Chrysler Sebring
Ratan Tata owns a Chrysler Sebring however, there are no pictures of the car available. He has however admitted in interviews about owning one. He just fell in love with the colour of his Sebring. The same colour was later used in Tata Indica when it was showcased at 1998 Geneva Motor Show.
Tata Indigo Marina
Ratan Tata actually bought this car not for him but, for his dogs. Mr. Tata used to take out his dogs in his Indigo Marina. The cabin was modified to make more space for the dogs. the seats were completely removed from the car for this purpose.
Mercedes-Benz S-Class
This is a car which is commonly found in the garage of business tycoons, celebrities and Rata Tata is no exception. Ratan Tata’s S-Class sedan is done is Black shade and is the flagship limousine from Mercedes-Benz. He has been spotted a lot of time in the back seat of the luxury sedan.
Tata Nano EV (Custom built)
Electra EV which is a leading company in electric vehicles powertrain solutions built an electric vehicle based on Tata Nano. They delivered Tata Nano EV to Mr. Tata to gain insights and feedback about the product.
