2022 Mahindra Scorpio Classic spotted ahead of its launch

[ad_1]

The Mahindra Scorpio is all set to be rebadged as Mahindra Scorpio Classic and we are quite excited for that. The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio Classic will be sold alongside the new Mahindra Scorpio N which will bridge the gap between the Thar and XUV700. The Mahindra Scorpio Classic will retain all the characteristics of the current generation of the SUV along with some minor upgrades.

Ahead of its launch in India, the Mahindra Scorpio Classic has been spotted multiple times while testing and few times alongside the Scorpio N. It is good to know that the launch of Scorpio N will not result in the discontinuation of current generation of Scorpio. For those who are unaware, the XUV500 was discontinued before the launch of XUV700.

The latest spy pictures show that the Mahindra Scorpio Classic will receive a minor facelift as compared to the current generation of the SUV. The front grille of the Scorpio Classic will have similarities with the Scorpio N. The signature messed grill will be replaced by the checked grill. The side indicator is placed on the front fender. The other noticeable changes on the Scorpio Classic SUV are roof rails, alloy wheels, and tail lamps.

Even though not much is known about the engine options on the Scorpio Classic we expect the same engine as that of the Scorpio. The Scorpio is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine that produces power up to 140PS and peak torque up to 319Nm. The 2.2-litre engine is powered by either a 5-speed / 6-speed manual transmission. The SUV is offered in five trims S3+, S5, S7, S9 and S11.

Currently, the Mahindra Scorpio is priced between Rs 13.54 lakh and Rs 18.62 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). We expect that the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio Classic will be priced similarly or a bit costlier than the current generation of the SUV.
