Maruti Suzuki releases new teaser for 2022 Baleno

Maruti Suzuki has started releasing new teasers for the 2022 Baleno. The facelift of the premium hatchback will launch by the end of this month. The manufacturer has already started accepting pre-bookings. Here, is the second teaser released on YouTube.

The teaser gives a glimpse of the LED Daytime Running Lamp and the turn indicator. For a fraction of a second, we can also see the LED headlamp. The video also shows us the rear LED tail lamp.

We can also see the heads-up display in the video. The Baleno will be the first car in the segment to come with a heads-up display. The HUD will show speed, tachometer, fuel efficiency, gear indicator and time so the driver would not have to take his/her eyes off the road.

The lighting elements on the Baleno are all new. They are sleeker than the current units but are still LEDs and the headlamps also use a projector setup. There will be a new set of alloy wheels. The front has also been redone with a meaner and sharper look.

We also know that the Baleno Facelift would come with a flat-bottom steering wheel, revised instrument cluster, multi-function steering wheel, cruise control, revised multi-information display, automatic climate control, push-button to start/stop the engine, keyless entry and much more.

Maruti Suzuki will also use a new touchscreen infotainment system which will be the highlight of the new cabin with the redesigned dashboard. The touchscreen will be now larger and will come with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There would also be Suzuki Connect on offer.

The engine on offer would be the same 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that Maruti Suzuki calls K-Series Dual Jet. It produces 90 Ps of max power and 113 Nm of peak torque. It will be offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT.

Yes, it is expected that Maruti Suzuki will no longer offer the CVT automatic transmission with the Baleno. Instead, there will be a 5-speed AMT which will be much more affordable than what any other rivals have to offer.

There could also be the 1.2-litre K-Series VVT petrol engine on offer. It produces 83 PS of max power and 113 Nm of peak torque. It would be offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox. As of now, we do not know whether this engine would be offered with a 5-speed AMT or not.

Variants 

Maruti Suzuki releases new teaser for 2022 Baleno

Maruti Suzuki will offer the 2022 Baleno with four variants. The name of the variants is the same as the current Baleno. So, the variants are called Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. The automatic transmission will be offered only on the Delta, Zeta and Alpha variants.

Colour options

Baleno would be offered in six colours. There would be Opulent Red, Lux Beige, Celestial Blue, Grandeur Silver, Pearl Arctic White and Splendid Silver. The only colour that has been carried forwarded from the current Baleno is the Pearl Arctic White.

Rivals

Maruti Suzuki Baleno would continue to compete against Tata Altroz, Toyota Glanza, Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz and Volkswagen Polo.
