Kia EV6 electric crossover scores 5 stars in European ANCAP crash test [Video]

Kia is all set to launch the EV6 electric crossover in the Indian market. The manufacturer will launch the EV6 on 2nd June and the bookings have opened on 26th May. Now, European ANCAP has crash-tested the EV6. The electric crossover scored 5 stars on the crash test.
It scored 34.48 points out of 38 available for adult safety and 42.96 points out of 49 for child safety. The road user protection was 64 percent and safety assist features are rated at 88 percent. It was equipped with dual frontal, side chest, side head, centre airbags.

The report says, “The passenger compartment of the Kia EV6 remained stable in the
frontal offset (MPDB) test. Dummy readings for the driver indicated MARGINAL protection for the driver’s chest and lower legs. Dummy readings for the front passenger indicated ADEQUATE protection of the lower legs. Protection was GOOD for all other
critical body regions for both the driver and front passenger.”
Kia to launch EV6 in India
Kia has already started releasing new teasers of the upcoming electric crossover. Recently, the brochure of the EV6 was also leaked online. This revealed a lot of things about the crossover.
We already know that Kia will bring the EV6 to India as a CBU or Completely Built Unit. This means that the pricing will be on the higher side. There will be two variants on offer namely, GT Line and GT Line AWD. There will be five colours, Moonscape, Snow White Pearl, Yacht Blue, Aurora Black Pearl and Runway Red. The interior will be finished in all black with black suede seats with vegan leather bolsters. There would only be a single colour option.
GT Line
The GT Line variant will come with sporty design elements. There would be 19-inch crystal cut alloy wheels, LED tail lamps with sequential turn indicators and light bar, LED fog lamps, solar glass, flush door handles, an electric sunroof and a rear spoiler.
There is a shift by wire technology, paddle shifters for brake regeneration, dual 12.3-inch curved screens, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, connected car features and LED headlamps with the adaptive driving beam. Speaking of the screens, one of them is the instrument cluster while the other one is the touchscreen infotainment system.
Kia is also offering a 10-way adjustable driver seat with memory function, a smart key with push-button to start/stop, a tilt and telescopic steering wheel, vegan leather-wrapped steering wheel, ventilated front seats, multiple drive modes, rain-sensing wipers, sporty alloy pedals, metal scuff plates, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, dual-zone climate control and much more.
