France issues international arrest warrant against Carlos Ghosn

The investigating magistrate in France has now reportedly issued five international arrest warrants against Ghosn and four others.

France has issued an international arrest warrant against ex-Nissan CEO, Carlos Ghosn.

According to media reports, the French prosecutors have issued a warrant over 15 million euros in potential suspect payments. Prosecutors allege that Ghosn funnelled funds from Renault through Suhail Bahwan Automobiles in Oman and used the money for personal purchases.

The investigating magistrate in France has now reportedly issued five international arrest warrants against Ghosn and four others.

Carlos Ghosn was first arrested in 2018 for allegedly under-reporting his pay package for five years. Ghosn also faced charges of financial misconduct when he fled Japan in 2019. The former head of Nissan and the Renault-Nissan Alliance is now in Lebanon, awaiting trial. However, Carlos Ghosn has denied any wrongdoing.
