Toyota Hyryder India launch tomorrow: Expected Price, features, specifications

Toyota India will be introducing its new mid-size SUV called Toyota Hyryder in India tomorrow. Codenamed as ‘D22’, the upcoming SUV will be similar to the Urban Cruiser sold internationally. Ahead of its official debut, here is everything you need to know about the mid-size SUV. Read on.
Toyota Hyryder: Expected Price and Rivals
The Toyota Hyryder SUV price in India is likely to start from Rs 12 lakh and will go all the way up to Rs 20 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom). Positioned under the sub-Rs 20 lakh price segment, the SUV will rival with the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun and Mahindra Scorpio-N in the Indian market.
Toyota Hyryder: Features
The front fascia of the Toyota Hyryder design is inspired from the Lexus models. As partially teased in the video, the Hyryder SUV will get a Glanza-like front grille with a thin chrome strip, lower-positioned LED headlamps and LED DRLs. The SUV will sit on multi-spoke alloy wheels as well as feature a hybrid badge and body cladding with skid plates.

As seen in the teased video, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder will receive a spacious cabin with a host of features, such as a large touchscreen infotainment system, powered front seats, a 360-degree parking camera, automatic climate control and an electric sunroof, amongst others.

Toyota Hyryder: Specifications
On the engine front, the Toyota Hyryder will source a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol engine from Maruti that will generate a power output of 103 hp. A 6-speed MT and a 6-speed AT will be on offer. The SUV might get a new 1.5-litre strong-hybrid petrol engine paired with an eCVT unit. Moreover, the midsize SUV might also receive an AWD option.
