Jeep Meridian features explained in detail

After numerous spy pictures and videos, Jeep India finally revealed Meridian 7-seater SUV in India. We are yet to drive the all-new Jeep Compass but, several official videos of the upcoming 7-seater SUV are already available online. Jeep Meridian will compete with SUVs like Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Skoda Kodiaq in the segment. Here we have a video that shares details about the upcoming SUV. The video talks about the exterior design and features that it offers inside.
The video has been uploaded by Power Racer on their YouTube channel. In this video vlogger shows the official video shared by Jeep for the all-new Meridian and talks about the features. As we all know, Jeep Meridian is based on Compass which was Jeep India’s first Made in India product. It was a successful product when launched and it received an update last year.

Jeep Meridian is a seven seater SUV which is 4,769 mm long, 1,859 mm wide and 1,682 mm tall. The Meridian is definitely longer and wider than Jeep Compass as it accommodates a third row seat in it. The design of the upcoming Jeep Meridian is actually similar to Jeep Compass. It is gets Jeep’s signature seven slat front grille with chrome outlines. The sleek headlamp units are placed as an extension to the grille itself. The headlamps are all LED units and come with integrated LED DRLs. The bumper looks muscular and comes with a chrome strip that runs across the bumper. LED Fog lamps are placed right under it. Another chrome strip is placed on the lower part of the bumper as well.
Coming to the side profile, there are sporty looking 18 inch alloy wheels. The design of the wheels are different from the ones seen n Jeep Compass. Meridian badge can be seen on the lower part of the front door. The length of the SUV is clearly visible from the side profile. As we move to the rear, the car gets a bulky design from the rear. The car gets a very sleek looking tail lamps design with a wrap around split LED tail lamp. There is a chrome strip running between the tail lamps give it a premium look.
Coming to the cabin, the Jeep Meridian has almost the same design as Jeep Compass facelift. The AC vents, steering wheel in the Jeep Meridian is similar to the unit seen on Jeep Compass. The theme of the cabin however is different from Compass. It gets Black and Brown theme which gives a much more premium look. The SUV gets large floating type touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The car also offers a fully digital instrument cluster similar to the one seen on Compass. Other features on Meridian include dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, 360 degree camera, ventilated front seats, connected car features and so on.
Unlike some of its rivals, Jeep is offering Meridian SUV with a diesel engine only at the launch. It will be a 2.0 litre turbocharged diesel engine that is expected to generate 170 Ps and 350 Nm of peak torque. The engine will be offered with a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed automatic automatic transmission. The engine will be offered with 2WD and AWD options. A petrol engine is expected to be added in future.
