NEW DELHI: Air India on Wednesday announced voluntary retirement scheme (VRS) for employees, the airline said in an official release.
As per the VRS, permanent employees who are above 55 years of age or who have completed 20 years of service can opt for it.
The airline has relaxed age eligibility for cabin crew, clerical and allied, and unskilled employees from 55 years to 40 years.
An ex-gratia amount will also be provided to the aforementioned employees as a one-time benefit, who apply for VRS from June 1-30.
Airline staff who apply for VRS between June 1 and June 30 will receive an additional incentive over an above the ex-gratia amount.
The acceptance of the application and date of release shall be at the discretion of the management, the release said.
