Mahindra will be launching the Scorpio N on June 27th. 2022 marks the 20th anniversary of the iconic SUV. The homegrown manufacturer will not discontinue the current Scorpio. Instead, it is expected that they will give it a mild facelift and rename it Scorpio Classic. Now, the Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic have been spotted together.

In the pictures, we can see both the SUVs are parked together. The first thing that you would immediately notice is that the Scorpio N is larger than the current Scorpio. It also has more road presence and butch design.

The Scorpio Classic will get redesigned bumpers. The grille is also new and it does have some of the elements from the Scorpio N. So, there are 6 vertical slats on the grille. As of now, it is not known whether Mahindra will use their new twins-peak logo on the Scorpio N or not.

However, it does seems like the Scorpio Classic has the twins-peak logo. The manufacturer has already revealed Scorpio N’s design and we do know that it will get the new logo just like the XUV700.

There are no changes to the exterior. It has black plastic cladding throughout the length of the car. There are black door handles and outside rearview mirrors and the roof rails are also missing. Considering the fact, that the bumper is also black, it seems like this is the new base variant of the Scorpio Classic.

It is not expected that Mahindra will update the engine or the gearbox of the Scorpio Classic. The interior is also expected to stay the same just like the exterior.

The Scorpio N is the next generation of the Scorpio. It will be positioned between the Thar and XUV700. The pricing of the Scorpio N is not yet revealed. The SUV is expected to be offered in three seating configurations. The base variant will come with a bench seat in the middle row and side-facing jump seats in the third row. Then there will be front-facing seats in the third row and a bench seat in the second row. Finally, the top-of-the-line variants will get front-facing third-row seats and captain seats in the second row.

The interior is now finished in a brown and black theme which does give an upmarket look to the cabin. Many components have been borrowed from the MX variant of the XUV700. So, the analogue instrument cluster, multi-function steering wheel and the stalks are the same ones as the XUV700.

The dashboard is all-new and houses a touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There is dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, push-button to start/stop the engine, cruise control, electric sunroof and much more on offer.

Mahindra will offer the Scorpio N with a petrol and a diesel engine. Both the engines are taken from the Thar and the XUV700. Both the engines will be offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Mahindra will also offer a 4×4 drive train with the Scorpio N.
