Stellantis has officially released the first pictures of the upcoming Jeep’s electric SUV. The teaser only shows the SUV’s exterior and the manufacturer has said that the SUV will debut in 2023. As of now, we do not know whether the new electric SUV will make its way to India or not.

In the pictures, the vehicle looks like a proper Jeep. It has a boxy design with squared-off elements. There is a 7-slat grille in the front and it gets a blue “e” badge but it won’t be functional because there is no engine up-front. Having said that the airdam would be functional because the electric motors and system does require cooling. The headlights are rectangle in shape, there is also a LED Daytime Running lamps strip. There is also a skid plate finished in a grey colour.

The SUV is finished in a dual-tone shade of yellow and black. The lower half of the SUV is finished in black, then the middle part is finished in yellow and then the roof, outside rearview mirrors and some of the pillars are finished in black. There is also a black decal on the bonnet just like we have seen on the Compass Trailhawk.

On the sides, there are huge sculpted wheel arches with black plastic cladding. There are 5-spoke diamond-cut alloy wheels and the door handles are only visible on the front doors. The rear door handles are placed on the C-pillars. This gives the SUV a three-door look. A shark-fin antenna is placed on the roof.

The rear tailgate is flat and gets a black bumper with a silver skid plate. There are tail lamps that are blacked-out and have an X-shaped LED element. On the rear glass, we can see a rear wiper with a washer and we can see an “e” badge. The number plate holder is located in the centre of the tailgate and there is also a rear spoiler.

There are no pictures of the interior and the production-spec electric SUV will end up looking slightly different from these pictures. Moreover, Jeep has not shared any information about the electric motor, battery pack and driving range. But being a Jeep we know that there will be a dual-motor version so that there is a four-wheel drive. It is expected to be based on Citroen’s eCMP platform. The same platform will also be used by Peugeot and Citroen for their electric vehicles.

Jeep already has 4xe variants of their vehicles which get a plug-in hybrid. So, vehicles like Compass, Wrangler, Renegade and Grand Cherokee are offered with the 4xe system. However, there is still no all-electric version of any of their SUV. But the manufacturer has announced that all of their vehicles will be available in an electric form by 2025. Moreover, Stellantis intends to launch 100 electric vehicles under brands that they own. These vehicles will be launched by 2030.
