Maruti Suzuki just launched the 2022 XL6 in the Indian market. It is being offered in three variants. There is Zeta, Alpha and Alpha+. The price of the XL6 now starts at Rs. 11.29 lakhs ex-showroom and goes up to Rs. 14.55 lakhs ex-showroom. Here, we have a detailed walkaround video of the Alpha MT variant.

The video is uploaded on YouTube by Drive Expo. We can see that the grille has been heavily updated. but the quad-LED headlamps stay the same. There are LED fog lamps and a faux skid plate. There is also a camera mounted just under the Suzuki logo. This camera is for the 360-degree parking camera that helps the driver in parking the car in tight spaces. You can also see the camera under the outside rearview mirrors and on the tailgate.

On the side profile, there are newly designed 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. These have made a big difference in terms of the stance of the MPV. The tyre size is 195/60 R16. The previous 15-inch units looked undersized for the XL6. The B and C pillars are now finished in gloss black. Braking duties are done by disc brakes in the front and drum brakes at the rear. There are roof rails and chrome door handles. At the rear, the tail lamp design is the same but now they come with a smoked effect. There is a chrome garnish and gloss plastic insert that connects both the tailamps.

Then the host climbs into the interior. There are no significant changes to it. It gets the same cabin as the Ertiga but it is finished in an all-black theme whereas Ertiga gets a dual-tone black and beige theme. The multi-function steering wheel is a flat-bottom unit. There is cruise control, automatic climate control, multi-information display, a push button to start/stop the engine, keyless entry and much more.

The infotainment still measures 7-inches but now runs a new user interface that we have seen on the Baleno. However, if you get the Zeta variant then you get the old 7-inch SmartPlay infotainment system. Both the systems do come with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

There is some equipment that the Alpha variant gets over the Zeta variant. For instance, leather-wrapped steering wheel, leatherette seats, voice assistant, IR cut front windshield, UV Cut side glass and quarter glass, automatic headlamps and key synced auto-fold function for the ORVMS.

The Alpha variant does miss out on gloss black outside rearview mirrors, back door spoiler, tyre monitoring system and ventilated front seats. To get these features you would have to upgrade to Alpha+ trim. Moreover, you also cannot get the dual-tone paint option on Zeta and Alpha variants.

The XL6 comes with a new 1.5-litre DualJet petrol engine with a Smart Hybrid system. It produces 102 bhp of max power and 136 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

The main rivals of the Maruti Suzuki XL6 are Kia Carens and Mahindra Marazzo.
