According to a tweet of Zac Hollis who is the Director of Sales, Service, and Marketing of Skoda Auto India, Slavia’s test drives will commence only after media drives have ended. The deliveries of the Slavia will start in the first week of March. During the same time, launch and price reveal will also happen.
Zac Hollis, Brand Director, ŠKODA AUTO India, said, “The SLAVIA is the second jewel for ŠKODA AUTO India under the 2.0 project. This sedan will strengthen our position in this dynamic market, and also re-energise and revive the premium mid-size sedan segment. With the SLAVIA, we are confident of putting the love back into sedans. This gorgeous car is now just one step away for our customers. This occasion is momentous also because the SLAVIA name is the advent of a new legacy for ŠKODA AUTO, in India, and also on a global scale.”

Skoda Slavia will share a lot of its parts with the Kushaq mid-size SUV in July last year. Kushaq did face some issues at first but it seems like Skoda has sold almost all of them. The Slavia will be based on the MQB-A0-IN platform just like the Kushaq.

It has a wheelbase of 2,651 mm which is almost as big as the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. So, we expect that the legroom should be enough for the rear occupants. Slavia has a width of 1,752 mm which makes it the widest sedan in the segment. It has a height of 1,487 mm and a length of 4,541 mm. The boot space of the Slavia is 521 litres which are very generous. It is important to note that Slavia will come with a traditional boot and it will not be a notchback.

Engine and gearbox

The 1.0 TSI produces 115 PS and 178 Nm. A 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission is also available with it. The 1.5 TSI produces 150 PS and 250 Nm. A 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox is also offered with this engine.
