Reynolds American Cutting 350 Jobs

Reynolds American is cutting 350 full-time positions and closing three facilities as it moves production to its plant in Tobaccoville, NC. 

The tobacco company plans to reduce its manufacturing footprint by 2025. 

Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Company’s operations in Oxford, NC will move to Tobaccoville, N.C.

American Snuff Company’s operations in Winston-Salem, NC will also move to Tobaccoville, N.C.

American Snuff’s Traditional Oral operations in Memphis, TN, will move to Clarksville, TN, which also makes smokeless products.

According to the company, more than half of the employees will have the opportunity to transfer sites, but 350 positions will be eliminated. 

The long process will begin in April. 

Reynolds American is offering severance and medical benefit continuation packages as well as outplacement support.
