Facelifted Hyundai Venue garners 15000 bookings already, waiting period at 3 months

The country’s third-largest carmaker Hyundai India recently launched the facelifted version of the Venue in the Indian market and the response has been extremely phenomenal for the company. And reiterating this overwhelming response, Tarun Garg, Director – Sales & Marketing, Hyundai Motor India during the launch of the new Venue revealed that even before the official launch, the car managed to garner an astonishing 15,000 reservations.

According to Garg, the company is sitting on a backlog of 1,35,000 units and 25,000 of those pending orders belong to the last iteration of the Venue. He added that this tally is the result of the ongoing semiconductor shortage and because of it the waiting period on the new Venue will be at least around three months. Garg further added that these waiting times may vary depending upon the models selected by the customers.

Hyundai launched the new Venue Facelift at a starting price of Rs. 7.53 lakhs ex-showroom and it goes up to Rs. 12.72 lakhs ex-showroom for the top-spec variant and the booking amount is set at Rs. 21,000. The new Hyundai VENUE” comes with three engine choices. Engines: 1.2 litre MPi petrol, 1.0 litre Turbo GDi petrol, and 1.5 litre CRDi diesel. Manual gearbox is available for the Kappa 1.2 l MPi petrol and U2 1.5 l CRDi diesel engines, while the Kappa 1.0 l Turbo GDi petrol engine is available with the thrilling iMT and DCT. All rates are for a limited time only and are based on the concept of “One India, One Price” (ex-showroom).

As for the changes, the new Venue now sports an updated front and rear bumper. There is a new parametric grille. The headlamps now use LED projectors instead of halogen ones. The LED Daytime Running Lamps are the same as the previous version. Hyundai did tweak the turn indicator housing though. On the sides, there is a new alloy wheel design. The rear has been heavily redesigned. There are new split LED tail lamps that are connected by a light bar.

Hyundai has thoroughly updated the cabin of the new Venue as well. The 2022 Venue will offer a digitised instrument cluster with a two-tone finish for the upholstery. The infotainment system is new and it has become bigger than before. The 8-inch infotainment screen offers multiple connectivity options like wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also offers Alexa and Google Home integration. This allows the Hyundai Venue to remain connected to smart home devices.

The front seats are ventilated and there is ambient lighting as well. The new Venue also offers Bose sound system, which we have seen in models like Creta. Hyundai has added a lot of features to the facelift Venue. The complete list includes a four-way powered driver seat, wireless charging system, automatic climate control system, sunroof, and BlueLink with more than 60 connected features. The updated BlueLink system will be available in 12 languages and will allow over-the-air firmware updates.
