Yamaha Motor India is expected to launch its new motorcycle- Yamaha MT 15 V 2.0 very soon in India. The bookings for the 2022 Yamaha MT 15 has already started across selected dealerships in India. Interested users can book the motorcycle by paying a token amount of Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000.
We expect that the 2022 Yamaha MT 15 will receive some major updates instead of just cosmetic upgrades. However, the new version of the MT-15 will get some new colours when it launches in India. In terms of updates, we can expect an improvement in suspension of the bike. The MT-15 V 2.0 might have upside-down forks, unlike the conventional units present in the current generation. The new generation of the MT-15 might introduce a quick shifter and traction control (both present in R15V4).
However, when it comes to the engine of the 2022 Yamaha MT 15, it is expected to remain the same. It will continue to be powered from a 155cc, single cylinder, and liquid cooled engine present in the current MT 15. The engine churns out a maximum power of 18.5 PS @10,000rpm. On the other hand the peak torque figure is 13.9 Nm at 8500 rpm. The fuel efficiency of the bike (MT 15 V2.0) is expected to be same as its predecessor. The real world mileage of the bike is somewhere between 40-45 kmpl. However, the ARAI claimed mileage is 52.02 kmpl.
Currently the Yamaha MT 15 costs Rs 1,46,900 lakh (ex-showroom price Delhi). However, when the new generation of the bike along with upgrades is launched in the country we are hopeful that it will get a price hike. We expect that there will be around Rs 10,000- Rs 15,000 price hike. The MT15 will retain it sharp and aggressive looks in the new edition. The dimensions of the bike are 2020mm x 800mm x 1070 mm (lxbxh). The ground clearance of the bike is 170mm while the kerb weight is 138kg. The seat height is 810mm while the fuel tank is 10L. The MT15 gets a Deltabox frame and is expected to continue it in the successive model.
