Nexon, Nexon EV Max and Tigor

The country’s second-largest automaker Tata Motors recently delivered 51 electric vehicles (9 Tigor EVs, 39 Nexon EVs, and 3 Nexon EV MAX) in Nagpur at once. The delivery festival of these EVs took place in the presence of Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, who handed over the keys to the customers. The ceremony, which was held at Aditya Auto Agencies in Nagpur, was attended by the Honorable Justice Supreme Court (Retd.) Mr Vikas Sirpurkar, Owner and Dealer Principal – Mr Prakash Jain, and other top Tata Motors executives.
Currently, Tata Motors is the leading electric vehicle manufacturer in the country and holds the biggest market share of EV four-wheelers on Indian roads. Its market share stands at 87% (11M, FY 22) and over 25000 Tata EVs have been delivered by the company to date. As part of its “Tata uniEVerse” EV ecosystem, Tata Motors is collaborating with other Tata Group firms, including Tata Power, Tata Chemicals, Tata Auto Components, Tata Motors Finance, and Croma, to help accelerate the adoption of EVs in India. The current lineup of Tata EVs includes – Tigor EV, Nexon EV and Nexon EV Max.
The most recent model of this lineup is the Nexon EV Max. The company launched the new Nexon EV Max at an attractive starting price of INR 17.74 lakh (ex-showroom, India). It comes powered by Tata’s Ziptron technology and will be made available in two variants. The variants are namely the Nexon EV Max XZ+ and Nexon EV Max XZ+ Lux. It will come in 3 exciting colours– Intensi-Teal (exclusive to the Nexon EV Max), Daytona Grey and Pristine White. Dual-tone body colour will be offered as a standard. It is equipped with a 40.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The battery capacity is 33 percent more than the regular Nexon EV. Bigger battery pack results in a longer range. Tata Nexon EV Max has an ARAI certified range of 437 km (the regular version offers a 312 km claimed range).

The Tata Nexon EV has a max torque of 250 Nm and a power output of 143 PS and it can perform a sprint from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in less than 9 seconds. A 3.3 kW charger or a 7.2 kW AC fast charger comes available with the Tata Nexon EV Max from the company. The 7.2 kW AC fast charger may be used at home or at the office. It would take around 6.5 hours for the 7.2 kW AC charger to completely charge the car. Aside from that, Nexon EV supports 50 kW DC charging, which takes 56 minutes to charge the NexonEV Max from 0% to 80%.
Tata also offers the Nexon EV Max with Multi-Mode Regen, which allows consumers to simply alter the degree of regenerative braking using floor console switches. Customers may select between four different regen levels depending on their driving conditions. It also has ESP with i-VBAC (intelligent – Vacuum-less Boost & Active Control), Hill Hold, Hill Descent Control, Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Vehicle Hold, and all four-wheel disc brakes.
