Y S Guleria quits Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India, Auto News, ET Auto

In a string of exits, key executives across sales, service and logistics functions including Y S Guleria, director (sales, marketing and service) at Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has resigned from the company.
Apart from Guleria, Pradeep Pandey senior vice-president (customer service), HMSI has put in his papers. In February this year Shekhar MC, formerly general manager (finished vehicles logistics), too exited the company and joined Ola Electric Mobility.
ET has learnt HMSI communicated the news of Guleria’s resignation citing personal reasons to employees Monday evening. Guleria, who headed several critical roles at the company, will exit in June 2022.
In May 2020, HMSI had made several changes to strengthen its senior leadership team. As part of this move, Yadvinder Singh Guleria and Vinay Dhingra were elevated to the Board of Directors of Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India.
Guleria as the new Director, HMSI was assigned additional charge of Customer Service, Logistics Planning & Control, Premium Motorcycle Business, Brand & Communication along with Sales & Marketing. Guleria was previously the Senior Vice – President Sales & Marketing, HMSI.
Guleria has steered the company through a challenging time as operations and sales were disrupted in the local two-wheeler market in the aftermath of the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. Last fiscal, HMSI’s domestic sales declined 10% to 3.47 million units. The industry contracted by 11% in the same period.
