Wipro CEO Thierry Delaporte’s annual salary compensation was Rs 79.80 crore or $10.51 million for the fiscal ended March 31, 2022, according to the company’s annual report filed with US capital markets regulator Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

This includes Rs 13.2 crore or $1.74 million in salary and allowances; Rs 19.3 crore or $2.55 million in commissions and variable pay; and Rs 31.8 crore or $4.2 million in other benefits.

The compensation includes a one-time cash award approved by the shareholders of the company in the annual general meeting held in July 2020.

Deladporte’s salary for the 9 months in 2020-21 stood at Rs 64.3 crore or $8.7 million; he joined the company in July 2020.

With the stellar salary package, Wipro’s CEO is the highest-paid executive in India’s IT sector.

Other top IT chief executives are also paid handsomely but not as much as Delaporte. Infosys’s chief executive officer Salil Parekh’s salary grew 43% to Rs 71 crore in the financial year 2021-22.

TCS CEO Rajesh Gopinathan’s salary stood at Rs 25.77 crore in FY22, up by 27%, as per the company’s annual report released in May.

Wipro chairman Rishad Premji’s take-home salary was $1.8 million in FY22 as compared to $1.62 million in the previous year. In rupee terms, Premji’s salary increased from Rs 13.8 crore in FY22 to Rs 11.8 crore in the previous year.

Prior to Wipro, Thierry has held various leadership positions in Capgemini, including Chief Operating Officer and a member of the Group Executive Board.
