Skoda has introduced another new variant of the Kushaq. It is called Active Peace and is the new base variant. The new variant is also the most affordable variant in the line-up as it starts at just Rs. 9.99 lakhs ex-showroom. It misses out on the touchscreen infotainment system and does not even get a speaker set.

The manufacturer is still offering a multi-function steering wheel. Moreover, you can get an infotainment system installed on the Active Peace variant from the dealership or from after-market. You also do not get USB charging ports on the new variant.

Because of Rs. 9.99 lakhs ex-showroom price tag, the Skoda Kushaq is now more affordable than Volkswagen Taigun, Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta. The Kushaq’s top-end Style 1.5 DSG variant costs Rs. 18.19 lakhs ex-showroom.

The Active Peace variant will be offered only with the 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged engine. It produces 115 Ps of max power and 178 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated only to the 6-speed manual gearbox. If you want the 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission then you would have to step up to at least Ambition Classic trim.

Skoda launches Ambition Classic variant

Recently, Skoda also launched the Ambition Classic variant of the Kushaq. The MT variant is priced at Rs. 2.69 lakhs ex-showroom and the AT variant costs Rs. 14.09 lakhs ex-showroom. It is priced at Rs. 1.7 lakhs more than the Active MT variant and Rs. 25,000 less than the Ambition variant. The difference between Ambition AT and Ambition Classic AT is just Rs. 10,000.

Feature-wise the Ambition Classic does miss out on some equipment. It does not get automatic climate control which has probably been done because of the ongoing semiconductor shortage. The dual-tone fabric seats are replaced with black suede seat covers.

Skoda has made some cosmetic changes to the Kushaq’s Ambition Classic variant as well. There are chrome accents on the exterior as well as the interior. On the inside, the Ambition Classic still comes with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There is electrically foldable outside rearview mirrors, LED headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lamps, cornering function for fog lamps, a rear wiper with washer, shark-fin antenna and 16-inch alloy wheels.

You also get Hill Hold Control, 60:40 split rear seats, a cooled glovebox, rear parcel tray, steering wheel wrapped in leather, dual airbags, Traction Control System, centre armrest etc.
