Royal Enfield is expected to launch a street-friendly version of Meteor 350 very soon in India. The new bike is expected to be named as Meteor 350X and offer a sportier feel to riders. If motorcycle enthusiasts remember correctly Royal Enfield sold a street-friendly version of the Thunderbird 350 as Thunderbird 350X. The Thunderbird 350X was equipped with the same engine as that of the Thunderbird 350 but had design changes to give a sportier feel to the riders.
The new Royal Enfield Meteor 350X is expected to offer a toned-down version of the regular Meteor which will be more street-oriented. The handlebars of the Meteor 350X will be flat and will enable the rider to lean a little forward. The flat handlebars will enable for better commuting in the urban areas. The seats of the Royal Enfield Meteor 350X is also expected to get a refreshed look in order to match the design of the bike. There are ample chances that the upcoming bike will have a single seat just like the 350X.
When it comes to the tyres, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350X will have a smaller front tyre than the Meteor 350. The Meteor 350 comes with a 19-inch front wheel while the Meteor 350X is expected to offer an 18-inch front wheel. However, the rear wheel is expected to be the same as that of the Meteor (18 inches). The colour options of the Meteor 350X is expected to be in bright colours.
The heart i.e. engine of the Meteor 350X is expected to be the same as that of the Meteor. The motorcycle is expected to offer a 349cc single-cylinder unit that produces a peak power of 20.2bhp @6100 rpm. The torque of the engine is 27Nm @4000 rpm. The 349cc engine is coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission. We expect that the Royal Enfield Meteor 350X will offer the same fuel efficiency as the Meteor 350. When it comes to brakes, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350X is expected to offer dual-channel ABS as standard.
When it comes to the price of the Royal Enfield Meteor 350X, it is expected to be costlier (around Rs 8k- Rs10k) than the base Meteor Fireball variant. We expect Royal Enfield to officially tease about the upcoming bike and are keeping our fingers crossed about its launch.
