In the last couple of years, car manufacturers in India are launching three row SUVs in the market. MG launched Hector Plus, Hyundai launched Alcazar. Tata launched Safari and Mahindra launched the all-new XUV700. Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari are some of the most popular SUV in the segment and both the SUVs have a decent waiting period on them as well. We have seen several ownership reviews of Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV700 SUV online. Here we have a video where the owner can be seen explaining why he bought Tata Safari instead of Mahindra XUV700.

The video has been uploaded by HER GARAGE on their YouTube channel. In this video, the owner of this Tata Safari explains why he bought Safari over Mahindra XUV700 and also shares things that he liked and wanted to improve in Safari. Tata recently launched the Dark Edition of Safari and the owner opted for that only. He has gone for the top-end diesel manual version. When asked he said, he specifically wanted a manual version as he liked it.

The owner had considered other SUV before finalising Safari and Mahindra XUV700 was one of them. The reason why he did not go for XUV700 is because of the long waiting period. He mentions that the petrol variants of XUV700 were available but, the diesel versions had a very long waiting period. On the other hand Tata Safari Dark Edition was available. The legendary Safari name of the SUV was one thing that attracted the customer.

Other reason why he opted for Safari was because of the features. Mahindra XUV700 definitely offers a lot more in terms of features but, they were not available for delivery and the customer wanted the car in a very short amount of time. Mahindra offers a premium looking cabin with XUV700 but, they are very light coloured which is quite hard to maintain in day-to-day basis. The Tata Safari on the other hand offered an all-black interior which the customer liked. He also points out that he is happy with the space offered in third row of the Safari.

The features like ventilated seats, spacious cabin were also a reason why he finalised Safari. The owner bought the SUV recently and has already done over 500 kms on it. In the city, the SUV is currently returning him just a little over 13 kmpl. He then starts speaking about things that he did not like or thought could have been improved. He points out at the touchscreen infotainment system. He said, the would not mind a bigger screen especially when a customer is paying around 25 lakh for an SUV. The touch response of the screen is laggy at times. The other thing did not like about the SUV was the clarity of the rear parking camera. It does not show the feed clearly especially at night. He also mentions that he has upgraded the headlights as the stock units did not satisfy him. Other than these small things, he is currently happy with the overall performance, looks and comfort of the Tata Safari.
