Maruti Suzuki has released a new teaser video for the 2022 XL6. It has the same shot of XL6 going through a hilly section. The pre-bookings of the MPV have also been opened for an amount of Rs. 11,000. The XL6 Facelift is expected to launch on the 21st of April. The new teaser also shows us the 360-degree parking camera that will come on the XL6. We have already seen this feature on the recently launched 2022 Baleno.
Variants
The XL6 will be offered in two variants. There will be Zeta and Alpha. So, the variants stay the same as the current XL6. The automatic transmission would be offered on both variants. It seems like there would be no CNG powertrain for the XL6. If you want a CNG-powered MPV then you would have to get the 2022 Ertiga.
Colours

The XL6 Facelift will be offered in six paint shades. There is Splendid Silver, Celestial Blue, Brave Khaki, Opulent Red, Arctic Silver and Grandeur Grey. The Brave Khaki and Arctic Silver have been carried forwarded from the current XL6.
New Engine
The XL6 Facelift would come with a new petrol engine. It will be a K12C DualJet VVT engine that will replace the current K12B engine. It is still a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder unit. The changes have been done to the number of injectors. The K12B comes with one injector per cylinder whereas the K12C engine comes with two injectors per cylinder. This gives manufacturers more control over-fueling. This helps in increasing the fuel efficiency figure. Further, you also get engine idle start/stop functionality.
These improvements would lead to an increase in the power output. So, the K12C engine would produce 115 PS of max power instead of the K12B engine which produces 105 PS. That is an increase of 10 PS. The K12B engine produces 138 Nm of peak torque, we do not know the torque output of the K12C engine. However, we expect it to be around 140 Nm. A 5-speed manual gearbox would be offered as standard.
New Gearbox
Maruti Suzuki will be replacing the 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission with a new 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The new gearbox has more number of gears which means better fuel economy. It would also react faster to driver inputs and will have better shift times. There would also be paddle shifters mounted behind the steering wheel that will help the driver in taking manual control of the gearbox.
New infotainment system
Maruti Suzuki will replace the SmartPlay infotainment system with a new SmartPlay Pro System. It will run a new user interface that we have seen on the Baleno. As of now, we do not know whether it will be the 7-inch unit or the 9-inch unit. However, from the video, it does seem like the 7-inch unit. We do know that it will come with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support.
360-degree parking camera
The teaser shows us the new 360-degree camera. It gives a top-down view of the MPV that will help in parking the vehicle easily in tight parking spaces.
