New car launches in India in May 2022

Here is a look at all the important car launches expected to take place in May 2022.
BMW i4
BMW has announced the launch of its all-electric i4 sedan in the Indian market on May 26, 2022.
The car is likely to be offered in two variants – eDrive40 and M50 xDrive. The eDrive40 variant comes with a single-motor setup producing 335 BHP and 430 Nm, while the dual-motors in the M50 xDrive variant pack 537 BHP and 795 Nm. Both variants use an 83.9 kWh battery pack that offers a maximum range of 590 km and 510 km, respectively (WLTP cycle).
Honda City Hybrid
Honda will announce the price of the City Hybrid on May 4, 2022. The Honda City e:HEV will be available in the top-spec ZX trim. Pre-bookings are already open and deliveries will commence in mid-May.
Powering the City Hybrid is a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with two electric motors, offering a combined output of 124 BHP and 253 Nm. The engine is mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and comes with three drive modes – EV, Hybrid and Petrol.
New-gen Mercedes Benz C-Class
Mercedes-Benz has announced that the next-generation C-Class will be launched in India on May 10, 2022.
The new C-Class will be offered in 3 variants – C200, C300d and C220d. The carmaker has currently opened bookings for the C200 and C300d variants. The booking amount has been set at Rs. 50,000.
Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo
Skoda is gearing up to launch the Kushaq Monte Carlo edition in India on May 9, 2022.
The Monte Carlo edition is expected to be positioned above the Style 1.5L TSI trim. The Kushaq Monte Carlo is likely to be offered with the same petrol engine options as the standard Kushaq.
Tata Nexon EV Long-Range
Tata Motors is set to launch a long-range version of the Nexon EV on May 11, 2022.
The long-range Nexon EV is expected to get a 40 kWh battery pack that could offer more than 400 km of range. The car could also come with a more powerful 6.6 kW AC charger.
Hyundai Creta Knight Edition
Hyundai has launched the Creta Knight Edition. The SUV is based on the MY2022 Creta and is available in two variants – S+ and SX (O), with prices starting at Rs. 13,51,200 (ex-showroom).
The Creta Knight Edition comes with a few cosmetic changes. However, it carries forward the same 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines, offered with both manual and automatic transmission options.
