Kia Carens customised with aftermarket accessories want to look premium

Kia recently launched their all-new 6-seater MUV Carens in the market. Like other Kia products, Carens quickly became popular among buyers. The main reason behind this popularity is the attractive pricing. The Carens is priced in such a manner that it is cheaper than the 5-seater Seltos. Aftermarket accessories have starting arriving in the market for Carens. Videos of such customisation have started surfacing online and here we have one such video that shows a Kia Carens with aftermarket accessories installed in it.
The video has been uploaded by sparkle caraccessories on their YouTube channel. In this video, vlogger shows how the car looked when it arrived at the workshop and how it looks after customisation. This looks like a mid variant which comes with decent number of features from factory. The car still misses out on features like all LED headlamps and many more features. The vlogger starts with the exterior first and mentions that the halogen bulbs in the car have been replaced with an LED unit. The original LED DRLs on the Carens have been retained.

Most of the customisations have been done inside the cabin. The car comes with fabric seat covers from factory. This has been replaced with aftermarket custom fit Ice Grey coloured seat covers. The fit and finish of the seat covers look good in the video. The vlogger has painted most of the black plastic panels on the door in gloss black finish. The door pads are wrapped in leather and the door pads also get ambient lights installed in it. Just like the seat, the steering wheel also gets dual tone cover on it. Other than this, the matte finish on the dashboard has been finished in gloss to match the panels around the touchscreen infotainment system. No other major modifications are visible in this car.
Kia Carens is based on the same platform as Kia Seltos. However, it is not being marketed as an SUV like Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus in the segment. Design of the Carens is also not like an SUV. Kia is offering 6 airbags as standard in the Carens and is the first car in the country to get this feature standard across the range. Kia also offers features like ventilated seats, connected car features, premium speakers system from Bose with the top-end variant. The Carens seen here in the video is powered by a turbo petrol engine.
Carens is offered with three engine and transmission options. This is the same engine and gearbox combo that is seen in Kia Seltos. There is a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, 1.5 litre turbo diesel engine and a 1.4 litre turbocharged petrol engine on offer. The 1.5 litre petrol engine generates 115 Ps and 144 Nm of peak torque. It is available with a manual and an IVT gearbox. The 1.5 litre diesel engine generates 115 Ps and 250 Nm of peak torque. It comes with manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 1.4 turbo petrol engine generates 140 Ps and 242 Nm of peak torque. It comes with manual and a 7-speed DCT gearbox option.
