Jeep India launches Compass Night Eagle at Rs. 21.95 lakhs ex-showroom

Jeep India has launched a new variant of the Compass SUV. The new variant is called Night Eagle and is priced at Rs. 21.95 lakhs ex-showroom for the diesel engine and Rs. 22.75 lakhs ex-showroom for the petrol engine. The Night Eagle gets only cosmetic changes, there are no mechanical changes.

Speaking of cosmetic changes, the Night Eagle comes with a glossy black finish for various exterior elements such as the front grille, alloy wheels that measure 18-inches, fog lamp surrounds, outside rearview mirrors and roof rails.

The interior is also finished in an all-black theme that does give a sporty vibe to the cabin. You get vinyl seats finished in black and light tungsten stitching. There are also black inserts on the door pads. It continues to come with features like a 10.1-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, Hill Start Assist, Traction Control System, dual-zone climate control, Electronic Stability Program, Electronic Parking Brake etc.

You can get the Night Eagle variant with a 2.0-litre Multijet diesel engine or a 1.4-litre turbocharged Multi-Air petrol engine. The diesel engine produces 170 PS of max power and 350 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to only a 6-speed manual gearbox for the Night Eagle variant. The petrol engine produces 160 PS of max power and 250 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission only.

The high demand for the Trailhawk, which was sold out in two months of launch, is testimony to the excitement for the Jeep Compass range and we expect to see similar enthusiasm for the Night Eagle.”

Jeep Compass 

The price of the Compass starts at Rs. 18.04 lakhs ex-showroom and goes up to Rs. 29.59 lakhs ex-showroom. It is offered in five variants. There is Sport, Longitude (O), Night Eagle, Limited (O), and Model S.

Jeep Compass Trailhawk

Jeep also offers the Trailhawk version of the Compass. It is a more hard-core off-road focused version of the Compass. It starts at Rs. 30.72 lakhs ex-showroom and gets plenty of upgrades over the regular Compass.

The Compass Trailhawk comes with 17-inch alloy wheels with 225/60 R17 Falken Wildpeaks all-terrain tyres, tow hooks, revised front and rear bumper and a decal on the hood. Jeep also raised the suspension so now it has 25 mm more ground clearance than the regular Compass. There is an additional Rock driving mode, low-range gearbox, Hill Hold Control, Dynamic Steering Torque, 4-wheel drive lock, Hill Hold Assist and 4×4 system.

Jeep Meridian

Jeep is also working on a 7-seater version of the Compass. It is called Meridian and will launch in the coming months. The SUV has already been revealed and it does have some changes when compared to Compass. So, you won’t mistake it for the Compass. The interior also looks more premium than the Compass because of the brown shade.
