Hyundai Alcazar to get affordable Executive variants

At present, the base Prestige Petrol variant of the Alcazar costs Rs. 16.44 lakh (ex-showroom).

Homologation documents have revealed that Hyundai is working on new entry-level variants of the Alcazar. The new Alcazar Executive will be based on the base-spec Prestige trim.

The document lists three new variants – Prestige 1.5L Diesel MT Executive 6 & 7-seater, Prestige (O) 1.5L Diesel AT Executive 7-seater and Prestige 2.0L Petrol MT Executive 7-seater.

The Alcazar’s 1.5-litre diesel engine makes 113 BHP and 250 Nm. The new Executive trim will be offered with a choice of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine powering the SUV makes 157 BHP and 191 Nm, which will be paired with a 6-speed manual in the new base trim.

The Hyundai Alcazar was launched exactly a year ago. At present, the prices for the SUV range from Rs 16.44 lakh for the Prestige 7-seater petrol variant to Rs 20.25 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Signature (O) 6-seater dual-tone diesel variant.
