Hero releases first TVC for Hero Splendor+ Xtec [Video]

Hero Splendor is the best selling two-wheeler in our country. It is known for its low maintenance costs, ease of riding, high fuel efficiency and affordability. Last month, the homegrown manufacturer launched Splendor Xtec in the Indian market. It is priced at Rs. 73,000 ex-showroom which makes it a top-end variant of the motorcycle. The dealerships have already received the first batch of the motorcycles. Now, Hero has launched the first TVC of the Splendor+ Xtec.
The motorcycle gets a host of updates while keeping the design still simplistic. It now comes with a digital instrument cluster that gets Bluetooth connectivity. When the mobile phone is connected then it can show call and SMS alerts. Moreover, the instrument cluster also shows real-time fuel efficiency. Other features include a side stand engine cut off sensor which is a good safety feature. There is also a USB charging port that can help you charge your mobile devices.

There are no changes to the engine. So, it is still a 97.2 cc air-cooled petrol engine that produces 7.9 hp of max power and 8.05 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a 4-speed gearbox. Moreover, there is also Hero’s i3s technology on offer that cuts off the engine after a couple of seconds when the engine is idling in neutral gear and the clutch is not pressed. When the rider presses the clutch again, the engine starts itself.
Hero is offering four paint schemes with the Splendor+ Xtec. There is Tornado Grey, Sparkling Beta Blue, Pearl White and Canvas Black. There is also a LED Daytime Running Lamp strip placed in the headlamp cowl and there are some new graphic designs. Cosmetically, it stays the same as the other Splendor Plus models. So, there is a halogen headlamp, turn indicators are square-shaped, 3D Hero branding and a halogen tail lamp.
There are no changes mechanical changes to the motorcycle. So, it continues to come with the same brake and suspension setup. Braking duties are done by 130 mm disc in the front as well as at the rear. Hero offer CBS or Combi Braking System as standard. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks in the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear that gets a pre-load adjustment.
The prices of the Hero Splendor start from Rs. 6.380 and goes up to Rs. 73,200. It is being offered in five variants. The motorcycle has to compete against other commuter type two-wheelers such as Bajaj Platina and Hero Star City Plus.
Hero Motocorp is currently working on a new adventure motorcycle. It will come with a 440 cc engine. The last time we heard about the motorcycle, it was being tested on tracks located in Chennai. They were tuning the anti-lock braking system of the motorcycle. Not much is known about the new motorcycle as of now. Hero will launch the new motorcycle next year and it will be competing against the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and the KTM 390 Adventure.
