On the last day of the event, the businessman took to LinkedIn to share a post from Davos, a resort in the Alps region of Switzerland’s Geneva. The annual meeting of business leaders ended on Thursday.
Alongside a picture of himself with Bill Gates at Davos, the 68-year-old said that the billionaire’s knowledge about India always surprises him. He also said that Gates loves Indian food.
Since the dup started their entrepreneurial journey around the same time, they had enough topics to bond over as first-generation businessmen.
From challenges to philanthropy, the duo had much to discuss. They spoke about their initial struggles, desire to find innovative solutions, and passion to give back to the communities.
Talking about the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Agarwal said that the non-profit organisation was working on developing food supplements to prevent malnutrition in children.
“Our continued mission together with Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is that all children remain healthy and no child goes hungry,” he added.
Agarwal also shared the recent developments from Vedanta Resources’s Nand Ghar initiative. He told Gates that the programme helps
70 million children and 20 million women in India so they can live a dignified life.
“We may not be able to build the future for the youth, but we must build the youth for the future,” he concluded his post.
On Wednesday, Zerodha and True Beacon co-founder Nikhil Kamath got his 147.8K followers on the micro-blogging platform excited by posting a picture of himself with the Microsoft founder.
In his post, he called meeting him an ‘enlightening hour’. His caption read, “To the most enlightening hour.”

Both Agarwal and Kamath met Gates on different occasions at Davos.
This year’s annual meet saw extraordinary participation from India. Some of the attendees included – Sequoia India MD Rajan Anandan, Meesho founder Vidit Aatrey, OYO Rooms founder Ritesh Agarwal, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani, BuilderAI’s Sachin Dev Duggal, among others.
