Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal gifts new S1 Pro to S1 owner who did 200 kms on single charge

The picture was shared on Twitter by Bhavish Aggarwal himself. He said, “As promised, @karthikbr007 , here’s your free Gerua for breaking records with 200kms range in a single charge! Many ICE 2Ws don’t have this range on a full petrol tank😄 Move OS 2 makes the best scooter in the world even better!”

The owner was able to complete 202 km on a single charge after upgrading to Move OS 2.0 which is still in beta and is rolled out only to a few users. The name of the owner is Karthik and he used the Eco mode to achieve the 200 km riding range. He used the scooter in the city as well as the highway. The Eco mode helps in achieving the maximum riding range possible. As of now, the Eco mode is present only on the Move OS 2.0. Ola Electric will be rolling out Move OS 2.0 to all the users when it is stable to use.

According to the riding stats displayed on the Ola S1 Pro’s display screen. Karthik rode the scooter for 202 km. His top speed was 48 kmph and his average speed was 27 kmph. Ola Electric first confirmed these stats by using cloud data and then gifted a new S1 Pro finished in Gerua colour.

Move OS 2.0

The Move OS 2.0 is supposed to be a big improvement over OS 1.0. It will enable a lot of features that Ola promised at launch. For instance, the Move OS 2.0 will enable cruise control, Eco mode, music playback through speakers, new mobile application connectivity, Bluetooth connectivity, a navigation system and much more.

Ola Electric starts upgrading Vehicle Control Units of scooters

The S1 Pro electric scooter is facing a lot of issues. One of which is that the display screen would go blank sometimes while riding the scooter or it would stop responding or it would get stuck. It seems like Ola Electric has found a solution to this problem.

The manufacturer is silently upgrading the VCU or Vehicle Control Unit of the scooters that were manufactured before March 2022. It is expected electric scooters produced after March 2022 already come with the upgraded VCU. The new VCU has more RAM and storage which means more processing power and the scooter would have more space for future software updates.

The issue with the current VCU is that it does not have enough processing power to handle more software updates. Because of this, the CPU is bottlenecking and it is heating up.
