The Land Rover Defender 130 has gone on sale in the US market with a price tag of $68,000.
Land Rover has added the Defender 130 to its model lineup. The new Land Rover Defender 130, as the name suggests, will be positioned above the Defender 90 and 110 offerings.
The Defender 130 will be offered as a premium 8-seater SUV with a 2+3+3 seating configuration. The SUV carries forward the same wheelbase as its 110 sibling. However, to make space for the 3rd-row, the length has been increased by 340 mm behind the rear axle. The extended overhang also frees up space for the boot, offering 389-litres with all three rows up. Folding the 3rd and 2nd rows extends the boot space to 1,232-litres and 2,291-litres, respectively.
Inside, the new Land Rover Defender 130 comes with a ventilation system for each row, quad-zone climate control, and a range of exclusive colour combinations and trim finishes. Other standard equipment includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 11.4-inch instrument cluster and Cabin Air Purification System. The car also comes with Air Suspension and Terrain Response System as standard.
Powering the Land Rover Defender 130 is a 3.0-litre mild-hybrid turbocharged petrol engine producing 296 BHP and 470 Nm. There is also a more powerful P400 variant, with a larger 6-cylinder engine producing 395 BHP and 550 Nm. Both engines come mated to Land Rover’s all-wheel-drive system and 8-speed automatic transmission as standard. Currently, there is no V8 on offer.
The Land Rover Defender 130 has gone on sale in the US market with a price tag of $68,000 (excluding taxes).
