2022 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class launched at Rs 2.5 crore

The Maybach S580 will be locally produced, while the S680 will be imported via the CBU route.

Mercedes-Benz has launched the 2022 Maybach S-Class in India. The limousine is available in two variants – a locally produced S580 and the S680, which is a CBU. These are priced at Rs. 2.5 crore and Rs. 3.2 crore (ex-showroom), respectively.

The new Maybach S-Class is based on the long-wheelbase version of the W223 S-Class. On the outside, the car gets a Maybach grille with chrome vents on the bumper and bespoke alloy wheels. The S680 also comes with optional dual-tone colour schemes.

Inside, the Maybach S-Class comes equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system a 12.8-inch digital instrument cluster and tablets for the rear-seat passengers. The car also comes with two wireless headsets, folding tables, reclining seats and a 10-litre refrigerator. Features like air suspension, rear-wheel steering, heads-up display and a host of active and passive safety systems are also standard.

The S580 is powered by a 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine with a 48-volt mild hybrid system. It produces 496 BHP and 700 Nm. The S680 comes with a 6.0-litre V12 producing 603 BHP and 900 Nm. Both engines are paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
