The 2022 Hyundai Venue subcompact SUV takes its design inspiration from the new-gen Tucson.
Hyundai India will launch the facelifted version of the Venue subcompact SUV on June 16, 2022. First launched in mid-2019, the Hyundai Venue has spent three years in the market and is now finally getting a mid-life facelift. Ahead of its official launch, the company has also released design sketches of the SUV, giving us a glimpse of the 2022 Hyundai Venue. While Hyundai is yet to begin the official bookings for the car, select Hyundai dealers are already accepting unofficial pre-bookings for a token of ₹ 11,000.
Announcing the launch date, Unsoo Kim, MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India said, “Indian customers have showcased their love and trust in Hyundai, making us the most sold SUV brand of 2020 and 2021. At Hyundai, we will continue to excite our most loved customers with unique and exciting products, and I am glad to announce the launch of the new Hyundai Venue in June this year. I am sure, the new Hyundai Venue will continue to thrill customers both in India as well as export markets.”
Visually, the 2022 Venue has been styled in line with the company’s latest design language, borrowing several cues from the new-gen Tucson. The SUV now gets a new dark chrome grille which extends onto the LED indicators. Hyundai has also updated the headlamps, which come with LED daytime running lights surrounds, and a new bumper. While the profile remains similar, the Venue does come with a set of new alloy wheels and updated ORVMs with integrated turn signal lights.

However, one of the most notable updates is at the rear, as the car now gets a connecting rear LED light, with LED taillamps, which reminds us of the VW Taigun. The lower section too has been updated with more of those new design inters and a revised rear bumper with a large silver skid plate.
While the company has not revealed the interior, the cabin too is expected to get its fair share of updates, including new interior and upholstery. Hyundai could also offer an updated infotainment system with the latest BlueLink connected car tech, among other features upgrades.

Engine options will remain unchanged. The 2022 Hyundai Venue facelift will continue to get the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol paired with a 5-speed manual, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine paired with a 6-speed manual. The subcompact SUV will also continue to offer the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with the option of a 6-speed manual or iMT and a seven-speed DCT automatic.
