2 New Big Launches Next Week – Updated Glanza, Himalayan Scram

The new Toyota Glanza facelift and Royal Enfield Himalayan Scram 411 are all set to launch in India next week. Prices of both models will be announced on March 15, 2022. Here’re key details of upcoming models.   

2022 Toyota Glanza

Official bookings for the new Glanza have been opened at Rs 11,000. Most of its cosmetic changes and feature upgrades will be similar to the recently-launched “new-age” Baleno hatchback. The 2022 Toyota Glanza will have dual-tone dashboard with an integrated 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a flat-bottom steering and twin-dial instrument cluster.

Features such as a head-up display, automatic climate control, a 360 degree camera, cruise control and electronic stability program will also be on-board. The updated model will continue to use the 1.2L petrol engine that makes power worth 89bhp and 113Nm of torque. It will come with the 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. Prices of the new Glanza are likely to be more or less similar to the current model that’s priced between Rs 7.70 lakh – Rs 9.66 lahk (all, ex-showroom).  

Royal Enfield Himalayan Scram 411

The new Royal Enfield Himalayan Scram 411 is the stripped-down and affordable variant of the Himalayan adventure tourer. Design elements such as a meta headlamp cowl, lack of windscreen, smaller fuel tank shroud, 19-inch front wheel, different side panels and seats distinguish it from the regular model. The bike is likely to be offered in new colour schemes. The bikemaker might also equip the new variant with an updated instrument console.

For power, the Himalayan Scram 411 use the same 411cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled SOHC engine. Though, the motor could be retuned for generating different power and torque outputs. At present, the engine delivers a peak power of 24bhp and 32Nm of torque. Its suspension and braking systems will be carried forward from the regular Royal Enfield Himalayan. The bike’s new variant is estimated to cost around Rs 1.95 lakh.
